Antique & Classic Cars Balancing beads:
To achieve maximum results, it is important to use the proper package size for each tire. As a rule of thumb, the amount of Counteract required per tire is based on one ounce per thirteen pounds of tire. If you are not using an applicator and pouring the contents of the bag directly into the tire, it is imperative that none of the contents of the bag ends up on the bead seating area of the tire and rim. Counteract disclaims any responsibility for air loss or tire damage due to improper installation or air check. In order to reduce the possibility of valve leaks, the use of a Counteract valve core and a metal CBB valve cap is recommended and included in every bag of Counteract. Counteract is TPMS compatible.
Please read below for proper fitment of Midel T and Wooden wheels
Modern repro wire wheels for Model Ts- 2oz
21" wire wheels (26/27 Model T) 3oz to 4oz
19" wheels (Model A etc) 3oz to 4oz
17" wheels (30's cars) 3oz to 4oz
Antique cars with wooden spokes and demountable rims 4oz to 6oz
Antique cars with wooden spokes 4oz
Antique cars with wooden spokes and felloes 5oz+ depending on wheel size. Model T 5oz, larger wheels ie. PreWWI Oldsmobile 6oz or sometimes more.
These weights are based on both your weight guidelines and combining it with the fact that the older the wheel (wood spokes era) the general rule they are more out of balance and heavier. In the 30 1/2 wheels with either vintage wire wheels or wood wheels, anything over about 4oz gives a noticeable thump on starting off that was objectionable.

Commonly asked questions.
Question1: Does the counteract beads only work at certain speeds?
Answer: No, Counteract beads work from 0mph and up not 30mph and up like the competition.
Question2: I heard beads will beat around inside a tire when you are at slow speeds, is this true?
Answer: Only Counteract balancing beads stay clung to the tire at any low speed even stopped.
Question3:Will your product have to re balance every time I stop or park over night?
Answer: No, after installation your tire will be balanced at all times unless you leave your vehicle parked for more then 2 weeks. If you do leave it for more then 2 weeks it will only take a few rotations for the beads to cling to the tire.
Question4: If i get moisture or lube in the tire will your beads clump up like all the other internal balancer's?
Answer: No, our beads are made of a tempered glass that cant absorb moisture and have a special Teflon coating that wont allow it to clump.
Question5: I have a internal tire pressure monitoring system will your beads damage them?
Answer: No, we are the only internal balancer that guarantees not to damage them. Other products will damage your sensor.
Question6:You say Counteract will improve my tire wear and fuel economy, do you have any proof?
These weights are based on Counteract guidelines – 1oz of beads per 13lbs of wheel weight – and combining it with the fact that older wheels are generally more out of balance and heavier. In most 30X3 ½ wheels install 4oz of beads (1 bottle filled with beads) and test drive. If the wheel is still out of balance install up to an additional 2oz per wheel.
Some valve stems may not be properly cleared out during manufacturing, restricting Counteract to flow through properly. If you have difficulty in installing the beads, use a 9/64” drill bit to slightly widen the opening down inside the valve stem. Be careful not to nick the metal valve core threads or damage the tube.
