To achieve maximum results, it is important to use the proper package size for each tire.  As a rule of thumb, the amount of Counteract required per tire is based on one ounce per thirteen pounds of tire.   If you are not using an applicator and pouring the contents of the bag directly into the tire, it is imperative that none of the contents of the bag ends up on the bead seating area of the tire and rim.  Counteract disclaims any responsibility for air loss or tire damage due to improper installation or air check.  In order to reduce the possibility of valve leaks, the use of a Counteract valve core and a metal CBB valve cap is recommended and included in every bag of Counteract.  Counteract is TPMS compatible.

Improve fuel economy

 Increase tire life

Counteract Balancing Beads reduce rolling resistance which in turn reduces wear. When a tire and complete wheel assembly is properly balanced it also ensures a more even wear, all of which increases tire life. Increased tire life allows you to use the same tires longer, ultimately saving you money.

 

For example, one of our customers using Counteract Balancing Beads has reported an increase in steering tire tread life on cab over tractor of 50-60,000 miles and a recent controlled test returned a 37 to 44% increase in tread life.

Reduce vibration

Wheel assembly parts are manufactured with acceptable imperfections but assembling them together without balancing puts you at risk of suffering from constant vibration. 

Up and down vibrations felt through the steering tires are not isolated; they apply to every wheel of the vehicle whether it’s a bus, truck or trailer. This doesn’t just damage the tires it also jostles the driver, vehicle and cargo.  When this out of balance force hits the road, it has the same effect as slightly applying the brakes or hitting a pot hole hundreds of times per minute, increasing the rolling resistance of the entire vehicle and decreasing fuel economy.

Balance from truck to trailer

Whether it’s because of the heavier loads they carry or because they are manufactured so uniformly, it is a common misconception that rear wheel assemblies and tires on trailers don’t need balancing. If the rear wheel assemblies are slightly out of balance the result can be fuel wastage, uneven wear and unnecessary vibration to the truck, trailer, driver and cargo - as proven in two separate university tests [1] & [2].

A mere six ounces of misbalance on an average sized trailer tire will multiply to 60 lbs at 60 mph and will further multiply when the suspension rebound frequency and the RPM of the wheel are at the same frequency. This vibration can be induced further after hitting a bump and will not cease until the vehicle slows or speeds up.

The overall effect is premature tire wear or cupping, increased rolling resistance, uncomfortable vibration and decreased fuel economy. Counteract Balancing Beads remove this problem by easily balancing all of the wheels on both the truck and trailer at a fraction of the cost of other systems.
